This collaborative and interactive virtual workshop, delivered as part of SRPe’s Engineering for Healthcare theme, brought together academics from SRPe’s partner universities and Clinicians from NHS West of Scotland Innovation Hub. The event aimed to share new research and healthcare technology outcomes, develop networks, and to explore the current and future healthcare technologies needs specifically in relation to innovations required for pandemic response and diagnostics.

This workshop forms the first of a series of interactions and workshops with a view to identifying critical NHS needs and opportunities, and potential areas for collaboration between SRPe academics/researchers and the NHS Innovation Hub / Clinicians aligned with future funding opportunities in Scotland and the UK.

At this first workshop several areas were identified for further exploration across monitoring and encouragement of wellbeing, patient care, aspects of technology-related data sharing, developing rapid-testing responses and remote monitoring to support patients at home as well as aid NHS staff in patient monitoring in hospitals.
