New SRPe Industry Doctorate Programme is Launched
SRPe is delighted to announce the launch of its new SRPe Industry Doctorate Programme (SRPe-IDP).
A total of 12 project awards are available across the following SRPe strategic themes:
Engineering at the Life Sciences Interface
Infrastructure and Environment
Robotics and Autonomous Systems
Successful projects will be driven by industry / technology-user demand and address key areas of industrial / technology-user challenge, opportunity or skills development need from across a wide spectrum of organisations and industry / technology-user sectors.
The SRPe-IDP projects must be delivered collaboratively between an SRPe university and an industrial company / technology-user organisation.
The industrial company / technology-user organisation must act as a co-investigator / co-supervisor engaged directly with the research, and the SRPe university must be the lead applicant and academic supervisor / host.
Collaborative participation from a 2nd SRPe university is highly desirable and, whilst not a specific criterion for project eligibility, will be taken into consideration during the review process.
The SRPe-IDP will provide funding towards the fees and stipend at 50% (up to a maximum of £40K over 4 years), with the university and the industry / technology-user partner providing the remaining 50%, with the minimum threshold for industry / technology-user funding contribution set at 40%. All additional project costs are to be provided by the university and industry / technology-user organisation partner.
Projects funded under this scheme are due to commence between 1st October 2019 and 31st December 2019 and will be of 4 years duration.
To submit an application please complete the SRPe-IDP Application Form following the guidance contained within the SRPe-IDP Application Guidance.
Completed application forms should be emailed, along with supporting documentation to Sarah Doherty, SRPe Administrator email@example.com by 5pm on Friday 31st May 2019. Applications received after this deadline will not be eligible.
Industrial companies / technology-user organisations who wish to explore the opportunities available under this scheme and the academic research expertise available across Scotland should contact SRPe on: firstname.lastname@example.org
