Professor Chris Pearce, GRPe Director

Professor Chris Pearce is Vice Principal (Research) at the University of Glasgow, responsible for research strategy and policy development. Since 2016, he has been Dean of Research and Deputy Head of the College of Science & Engineering.

Chris is also Professor of Computational Mechanics in the James Watt School of Engineering and holds the Royal Academy of Engineering / EDF Energy Research chair. His research has delivered new advances in the computational analysis of materials and structures and led him to work closely with the civil nuclear industry, delivering advice, support and new predictive modelling capability.

He is co-Director of the Glasgow Computational Engineering Centre, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Chartered Engineer. He is a Board member of the Scotland 5G Centre and the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA).
